What is hair Porosity?

 Hi Ladies,

As I'm here waiting for my mud face mask to dry, I decided to explain the biggest topic in the hair What Is Hair Porosity.

The most important key to hair growth and length retention is moisture. your hair remaining moisturized and hydrates keep it from breaking off and stunting growth.

This is why hair porosity is the most important key to not only natural hair growth but also helping you choose the right products for it. Hair porosity is the rate at which your hair retains moisture and then loses the moisture. it allows you to know how easily your hair will absorb moisture and how long your hair will stay moisturized.

Your hair porosity can be either low, medium, or high. However, knowing which is very important to how you will care for your hair in the future. Understanding your hair porosity is si very important, know I'm going to go into depth on how to find out your hair porosity and then what you need to do to care for your hair depending on your hair's results.

Finding your hair porosity will only take 5 minutes, trust me!!!!

What will you need:

* A cup of water

* 3-4 strands of hair

* Shampoo or a clean head or hair

Finding Hair Porosity with the Floating test

Step 1: Fill the cup with water not too full I say a little more than a half-full.

Step 2: Rip out your hair, gently take 3-4 strands of your hair from your head

Step 3: Gently shampoo those strands so they can be clean for the experiment

Step 4: Gentle dry the strand of hair with a paper towel or tissue.

Step 5: Drop the strans of hair in the cup of water

Step 6: Wait 2 minutes exactly!!!

Step 7: Check the strands of hair if they are floating on top of the water you have low porosity hair, if they are in the middle of the cup you have medium porosity hair, if they sunk to the bottom of the cup then your hair is High porosity.

You can cut step 3 and 4 if your hair is wash with no styling product in it.

Check my next blog to see how to take care of each individual type of porosity, I will be going in depth on the health and how you can bring your hair to a dreamy, healthy curls.
